ACCOLADES, RENEGADE THEATER'S "RED"
Renegade Theater Company's production of Red (June 2014), directed by Anika Thompson, and starring Jody Kujawa and Paul LaNave, was recognized by two Duluth publications as being one of the best theatrical productions in the area in 2014.

In its recap of "2014's Best of Theater", The Duluth News Tribune said of Renegade's production:
"Jody Kujawa played abstract expressionist artist Mark Rothko as a wild card who goes from spitting and dizzy to furious to productive and vulnerable in a single conversation. Paul LaNave's take on his fictional assistant went from slouching insecurity to Rothko's conversational equal. Renegade Theater Company's production of "Red" was an intense but accessible two-man show that played at Teatro Zuccone." Read more here.

Red was also chosen by readers of Perfect Duluth Day as the "Perfect Play or Musical of 2014":
"'It’s an accessible show, too, with quick dashes of humor,' Christa Lawler wrote in her review of the play for the Duluth News Tribune. 'Kujawa and LaNave have given their characters balance and energy. In a pivotal scene, the duo primes a large canvas. They take off with brushes flying within sprays of red paint. They split the space and cover the entire sheet in less than a minute in a scene that is exhilarating." Read more here.
